Election Day

Nowadays, we are registered to voting since we turn 18 years old, but before, whoever that wanted to vote had to register him/herself into "registro electoral".  I went to the Talagante "registro electoral", to register myself to voting a week after my 18 birthday, because I have always thought that voting is my right and, I'm in my right to use it, so voting brings me the power to choose who can be my country president, or my town mayor. 

In this electoral campaign, in my district there are two mayor candidates, Raúl Leiva (the current mayor) and Lucy Salinas (a previous mayor), and their electoral campaigns are so different. Raúl's Campaign uses pictures from the Talagante people, and from the advances that my town has had since he is the mayor, and Lucy campaign painted many walls that were previously cleaned by a municipal program called "yo pinto Talagante". The bad thing about the electoral campaigns is that the candidate’s propaganda is located in every place, hiding all the beautiful things that my town has. I think that it is not necessary to cover a place with a candidate face...  maybe she / he isn't a good person and doesn't know how to be a good leader, this is the important thing.!  

I think that a person who wants to have a public position must have public service vocation, because she/he won't govern to win more power to him/herself, but, she/he will govern for all the people, from young and old people.

I never consider becoming a politician, because I think it is a very big responsibility and I don't think that I'm the best person to do it, and I want to be a teacher, not a politician.

My best holidays

Today, I will write about my best holidays. 

I traveled with My mother, Rafael (Her boyfriend), my little sister, and my boyfriend. We visited a beautiful place called Quintero and it is located in Valparaíso Region.

In Quintero, we stayed in a apartment near many beaches, I remember some of these, like "El libro", "El Caleuche", "Playa de los Enamorados", “Las Conchitas”, "La Tortuga". There, we walked around the beaches and we took many photos of us, and of landscape. I think that Quinteros landscapes are the prettiest that I have seen in my life, because the ocean and trees mix in its beaches. Some days in the afternoon we went to the "feria artesanal" to buy souvenirs for our family and friends.

I have many reasons to say that my 2012 holidays was the best of my life:

1) Quintero is a beautiful place, and don't have many population, so, is a peaceful place.

2) It was my first holidays with my boyfriend and we spent many funny moments together.

3) Because the last year was too bad from my family, and this travel relaxing us.

The only bad thing about this holidays is we traveled much time to arrive, because the bus go first to the other places to left others passengers.

A country I would like to visit. !

In this opportunity I’m going to write about a country that I would like to visit. I think that I have to know my own country, and after traveling to other countries, so the country that I would like to visit is Chile and after I would like to visit any European country but I’m not sure of which one.

In books and internet I watched many photos from different beautiful places of Chile, and these pictures motivate me to want to know all these places, furthermore I don’t visit many places outside the metropolitan region (I went to many beaches located on the V region). I would like to visit the Tarapacá Region when people celebrate "La Fiesta de la Tirana", (July 16) a religious celebration in honor to the "Virgen Del Carmen" because I think that the dances what people make to the Virgen Del Carmen are beautiful (Someday I could learn to dance like they it would be interesting.) On the south of Chile I would like to visit Punta Arenas, because once of my aunt Margarita go live there with her boyfriend when their first daughter born.
Now, I don't want to live in any of the places I mentioned before. I like to live in Talagante, because is a peaceful place, and the people is more peaceful than Santiago.

My First Semester Experience ^^

Today I am going to tell you what I've done on my 2012 first semester. The last semester was very difficult to me, because my family passed many sad moments that have influence on my emotional status, and it, influenced my marks. On the University the subjects that I've studied that I love was: "development and learning", "Psycholinguistics", "research methodology", "Curriculum I". Generally I arrive to class some minutes after that it starts, because I live so far from the University. 

I don't practice many sports, because I don't have sufficient time to do it, furthermore, I don't like play sports, in spite of when I was 15, I played basketball on the school.

Since I come to study to Santiago, I can't spent time with my friends, because we don't have enough time to get together, and our timetables are very different. 

Now, my family is a little bit better than the past semester, and I hope that in the future we can stay peaceful.

II Semestre 2012!

My blog experience ~ !

This was the first time that I wrote a blog.
My experience with the blog was great!, I think that write a blog is very funny, because I can write about everything on my blog, like a life diary. i love write on my blog.

The best part was what my blog was for my English class, because I think that blog was a great resource for increase my vocabulary and for express my opinion in English about different topics, and for start to socialize with my new classmates on the university.

With the blogs, i noticed about likes and dislikes from my classmates, I noticed that Paula Carrera has a daughter and Marcela has a daughter too, Francisca is a belly dancer, everyone like different kinds of music and movies, all of us wants to travel around the world To different awesome places and all of us likes different dishes of food and different books.

The post that most liked me was three differents:
The first was related with my favorite picture, The second was related with my favorite book and the third post most liked me was related with a happy day in my life.
I think that these posts leave me express things very important in my life, because the picture that I upload these day is very special for me, my favorite book is a beautiful life story and this happy day was once of the best days in my life.

These days we are on student’s strike on the university, so i don’t go to the university because my house is very far to the faculty and I go to advantage to take care with my little sister, because she is sick >.<, so I am very disoriented with the days and don’t  noticed that today is Thursday :/

Thanks to it, I write my blog very late …


I like write on my blog every week, maybe I continue writing my blog before this semester :D

Veronika Decide Morir- Paulo Coelho: My Favorite Book

My favorite book is “veronika decide morir” from Paulo Coehlo

I read this book the last year, because a bookseller recommended it to me.

The book speaks about a beautiful young woman called Veronika. She has all that she wants on her life, he has a good job with good pay, and things were as she wanted. A day she began to believe that his life was boring and had no sense, because she believe know all that will happen on her future so she decides to commit suicide. After that someone is lying on the floor and takes her to a hospital, a place from which you sent to a psychiatric hospital.  She wake up on the psychiatric hospital and here she learns that she dies in a week, due to the strong effect of the pills used to attempt suicide.

Their presence in the hospital affects all patients, especially Zedka, who has clinical depression, Mari, who suffers from panic attacks, and Eduard, who suffers from schizophrenia, who falls in love with Veronika. During his stay in the psychiatric hospital, Veronika realizes that he has nothing to lose and therefore may want to say and be what you want without having to worry about what others think of her as mentally ill. Because of this new freedom Veronika experience all the things that were never allowed in his life.

In the end of the book she run away from the hospital with eduard to live the last moments of veronika outside the hospital, but veronika not die, because the doctor who attended lied about that she would die in a week by the effect of pills, so that she valued her life and to live each day as if it were the last of her life.

My favorite picture! ♥

I have many Photos that I like. It’s was very difficult choose only one, but the picture what i will refer was taken on past summer, on 19^th February. This day I go to the beach with my boyfriend and his family. This day was very special for me, because was the first day that I spent with my boyfriend’s family, so I’m a bit nervous… This day I meet his mother, brother, father, his cousins and an uncle from him. They are very nice with me.

This day I walk all the afternoon with my boyfriend by the beach, we talk many things about our lives. I love speak these things with them because I feel the confidence that we have.

I like this photo for three reasons:

The first reason is because this is the first picture that I have on the beach. The other times when I go to the beach I don’t take many pictures, and if a take some photos I never appear near the beach.

The second reason is because I appear on the photo with my boyfriend so I can remember this day looking at the pictures that his mother takes. With these pictures i remember that beautiful day.

The third reason is because I love the landscape behind us, the sea, and this cloudy day and because there are no people behind us on the picture.

I hope that this day repeats itself, because it was wonderful, I have funny moments and romantic moments too♥

A happy day :3

I think that one of the happiest days of my life was my birthday 18, the last year.

I remember that this day I don’t planned nothing to do, because I don’t make party for my birthdays since many years. I know many people and I think that make a guest list for a party is very difficult, because my house is very little, so I can’t invite to my house many friends. So this day I was alone in my home.

At 15:00 o’clock my friends went to my house with two pizzas and many gifts for me. We stay in my house all day talking and laughing… was a funny day!

I like this day, because I never believed that they came to my house for my birthday and because it was unexpected for me.

My friends were in my house until the 01:30 approximated. They gift me many chocolates because I love chocolate, so, on the afternoon we ate all my chocolates, the pizzas and many things that I have in my house      :3

My parents are sleeping all the afternoon and when they woke up arrived to my house my aunt, she gift me a cake made by she, it is delicious                     :3

I was happy when I noticed that my friends remember my birthday without I was saying to them when is…  I think that my friends would come to my house the next week for my birthday like the last year, but this year I will go out with my boyfriend.

My favourite piece of technoogy!

My favourite piece of technology is my computer.

My parents gift it to me when I finished the school, the year 2009. The first months I used my computer only for chat, listening music, visit facebook and take pictures (my computer includes webcam). But now I use my computer for do my homework, read texts, write, found book that I need read for university furthermore chat and listening music.

I don’t know much about computers and technology, but my boyfriend helps me when I have problems with mi pc, he teaches me many things about my computer^^

I like my computer because is a great tool for stay connected with my friends, my family, my boyfriend, my classmates, my old-classmates and for do the homework from university. So I think that the computer is a useful piece of technology.

Now, the computer camera is not working, my parents don’t know it yet, but I will tell them soon. 

My computer is a notebook Sony Vaio, gray color… I think that it is pretty; I like the gray color on my pc, because the majority of the notebooks that I saw in catalogs are black.

I like change the wallpaper, sometimes I put photos from my family or pictures from my favourite anime  :3

I would like to visit to...

I would like to visit Isla de Pascua

Isla de Pascua is an island located on Chilean Polynesia, on Pacific Ocean. It’s a touristic place between the most visited by tourists from the entire world in Chile…

In this island lived the rapa nui ancient culture… the most recognized of this culture are the “moais”, Gigants statues built by this people.

Isla de Pascua is a humanity patrimony declared by UNESCO on 1995…

I think that we have to know all our country before to know all de rest of the world, and my mother always wants go here, so I would like to visit this place for go with her, my sister, my father, and my boyfriend too    :B

I like travel with they, they are the most important persons in my life, and I spent great moments with they.

I wouldn’t like live here, I think that is a beautiful place, but I love live in Talagante, although my town is very small and don’t have many places to visit like Isla de Pascua, The people that live in Talagante is nice, here lived my friends, my family and all the people that I know, and I’m accustomed to live here.

I hope that someday I can travel to Isla de Pascua with my family like a tourist, because the pictures of this place are beautiful… Here I show pictures from this place!     :D

I like to listen music ^^

The music that I listen is very different.  I’m easily influenced by mi friends to hear their favorite songs.

When I’m sad I always listen to cheerful music, because it gives to me the happiness that I’ve lost. There is a song from Mark Anthony that I love! Is called “Valió la pena”. Another song that I like listening when I’m sad is “No hay nadie como tú” from Calle 13 (I love this song because my boyfriend dedicated it to me). That song always helps me to think about other things and give me the same cheerful from their rythms.

When I’m happy I always listen to Paramore, Chancho en Piedra, Metallica, and a lot of different musical bands.

I love Juanes music, I think that his song’s letters are so beautiful and I’m feeling happy when I listen to his music.

When I’m traveling by bus in the morning I listen to a radio program called “Los Magníficos” from radio activa… they are so funny. I laugh all the road when I listen this program xD

The music is so cheerful and very different, is a good way to have fun every morning.

I visit this website since a few weeks, because I discovered it thanks to a teacher of the university. She says us “visit chilecrececontigo.cl and look all in this website”… The first time that I visit this site, I think that is very pretty, I like his colors and his draws. Later I found much information about childhood, interesting things. I learned a lot of things thanks to this website…

I visit this site two times for a week, or when I want read something.

My name is Catalina Pinto Ríos, I’m 18 years old. I live in Talagante with my parents and my little sister.  I’m studying nursery education on the university and this is my first year :D

I have two hamsters, tito and chii. They are very lazy and tender.

I’m trying to play the guitar since some years, but I can’t practice because I don’t have much time for this. My guitar is called “Guitah”  :D
